Doc Titus was born in the Chicago suburb of Harvey, Illinois one of seven children. Doc was an avid reader very early on, consuming three entire sets of encyclopedias, but did not seem to want to share the gift of speech until he reached the age of three years old when a TV commercial with a scantly clad women made this quiet toddler jump up and yell WHEW Weee!!! Doc has been perfecting the gift of communication ever since. The ability to become an entrepreneur also came early with the usual paper route at age 8 where Doc had a few 6 year olds delivering the papers and he handled the Sunday collections. 

By age ten Doc had a bicycle shop and miniature roller rink in the basement of the family home in the summer and a ice skating rink in the back yard in the winter. 

This led to sports where Doc played Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, Ice Hockey, and Football, sometimes having to form the team, locate sponsors and equipment, set up the league and most of all have a great time competing with neighborhood kids large or small. 

One of Doc’s favorite stories was when he would go around the neighborhood and knock on doors asking anyone who would open if he could mow their lawn or shovel their walkway just so the team could have some lunch money after the games. Doc was very good when the neighbor would ask how much do you charge and Doc would say pay me what ever you think I’m worth and then give an award winning smile and then an all-star performance. This got them saying wow every time, and usually a pretty nice payment at the end.

After graduating from high school with a certificate in Architecture, and Business, Titus attended The University of Wisconsin with a double major in Business and Design. 

After College Doc moved to Oregon where he has owned and operated several businesses throughout the Portland Metro and Salem area. Some of his previous ownership experience includes various roller skating rinks, The Playground, a teen center at Tanasbourne Mall in Hillsboro, Razzles Night Club and Entertainment Center, A non-alcoholic entertainment facility, and The Playground Sports Bar - both in Salem. Doc is also credited with spearheading the completion of Playground USA, the first 50,000 sq. ft. indoor sports and entertainment facility of it’s kind in the country. He is at this time the President of Natural Ham Entertainment Group Inc., a company he founded in January 1989. The company has designed and installed entertainment systems for numerous commercial and residential clients including Fred Meyer’s stores and The Incredible Universe. Along with designing, Doc has also worked as a Business Consultant for small to medium size companies. From 1989-1990, Titus produced several Music Videos including Dancing With Doc-The TV Show, a dance oriented entertainment program carried by the Fox Network. The dance program aired for 57-weeks across eight markets, including Portland, Oregon.

Doc serves the general public as a Business consultant and is currently working with Eyewitness Digital Surveillance.  The energy, enthusiasm, and team leadership that Doc brings to the table is quite contagious. Be sure to include Doc in your next Strategic Planning session.
